Immigrated to US. 1880 to South Dakota
Occupation: Butcher. Liked to play the fiddle.
Built the house and store in Bristol, SD.
Later May Rankin and her family lived there. Anna would here and at Babe's out West quite a bit. She would also staywith the other girls two.
William rustled around cattle and hogs and shipped carloads of them to the stockyards at St Paul and Minneapolis, MN.


General Notes: Wife - Anna Farrington

Born in Saskatchewan, Canada April 1863
Immigrated to US. in 1879 from Canada to South Dakota Anna told the story that when they were immigrating to South Dakota, they would turn the wagon over at night for protection from Indians and snakes. William and Anna filed a preemption claim on the Janke farm, 1/2 mile East of Bristol. The house was situated on top of a hill. Seven children were born, 5 lived, two died in infancy and are buried on a mound on the farm.
Anna dressed very well,loved to catch fish
Lived with George & Ida quite a bit
Oldest Pioneer in South Dakota
Lived to 95 years old
Never really had a home of her own after William died. Mainly stayed with her daughters and with Janette and Babe Moxness.

Immigrated to US in 1880 from Canada Mother & Father born in Canada Was a practical nurse. Helped many babies be delivered into the world.
She was very distinquished figure, carrying herself straight and tall. Always wore her hair with ringletsto the neck line with a black ribbon.
Was a charter member of the United Methodist Episcopal Church.
She passed away at the age of 80 years and interred at the Bristol cemetery.
